Speakers and social enterprise experts worldwide will lead the four-day residential training. An experience made unique by the testimonies of social entrepreneurs but also by the reflections and support of mentors, academics and impact investors that will allow participants to expand their field of action in a melting pot of knowledge and experiences.

For the 2023 edition, SEOC intends to explore an urgent and important topic that can represent the fulcrum of the development and growth of business models.

The Focus of the Seoc 2023

“Unlocking” human, social, and relational capital in a business environment means dealing with the following:

Redefinition and remodeling of business models

Building new corporate cultures and Shaping good governance practices

Activation of networks of skills, partnerships, cross-fertilization

Human resource management: leadership, team leadership, team building

Skills training, talent promotion, and retention

Management of internal mobility, business continuity, and generational change

Strengthening intergenerational capital

Inclusion and enhancement of gender, cognitive, ethnic diversity

Format

As in previous editions, the Social Enterprise Open Camp of 2023 will stand as:

An international, residential, intensive, and immersive camp structure.
An active multi-stakeholders’ ecosystem where peer to peer training course is the instrumental tool to pursue sustainable solutions . The training course is supported by speakers, workshop leaders, knowledge advisors, and social entrepreneurs.
SEOC will aim at bridging social minded organizations, at strengthening social enterprises and exposing young partecipants to get familiar with the growing movement of social enterprises.
Offers social and impact enterprises the opportunity to grow through peer to peer learning.
Increases networking opportunities for social impact.

Concept

Comprehensive sessions, keynote talks, debates, round tables will alternate with 2 days long workshops with six case studies.
Partecipants from companies/social cooperatives undergoing processes of change in corporate culture, reshaping of governance, enhancement of human and social capital, and experimentation with new business models aimed at sustainability. The case studies will act as real learning platforms for the participants who, guided by workshop leaders, knowledge advisors, and entrepreneurs, will discuss and reflect on these central themes and possible challenges to improve their business models.

Target

Impactful entrepreneurs, aspiring innovators, change makers, social enterprises, international cooperation practitioners, impact investors, and representatives of institutions, universities, and academies. Participants will be both from Italy and from all over the world.

GOALS

As in previous editions, also for the Social Enterprise Open Camp of 2023, the goals are:

Supporting the ecosystem of social and impact enterprises

Start a dialogue and grow a network of realities that deal with the social economy to build the social enterprises of the future and revolutionize the existing ones

Allow social and impact enterprises to grow through the dialogue with protagonists of industry and finance

Offer numerous networking opportunities to generate collaborations, implement project ideas, and give birth to new synergies

Where and When

The Social Enterprise Open Camp will take place from the 20th to the 23rd of October 2023 in a jewel of Umbria: Todi, a city also known as the “land of the Gods”.

The opening (October 20) and closing (October 23) sessions will be held at the Teatro Comunale of Todi, a real wonder inaugurated in 1876 with the play “Un Ballo in Maschera” by Giuseppe Verdi. Since 1992, the theater has been proposing the prose season every year which, linked to the Stabile dell’Umbria, has offered and continues to offer outstanding performances. The theater also hosts operas, operettas, musicals, concerts, and other important events. The curtain, which represents the arrival of Ludovico Ariosto in Todi in 1531, is the work of Annibale Brugnoli, an artist from Perugia of great fame.

The Montesanto Convent in Todi will instead be the “headquarters” of Seoc2023 where workshops and talks will be held on the 21st and 22nd of October. In ancient times it was called Monte Mascarano, with a temple dedicated to the god Mars and the goddess Bellona. In 1235 Buono, Abbot of San Fortunato, gave the land to the blessed Ruggero of Todi to build a Monastery of Poor Clares, at the request of Gregory IX. Perhaps even Jacopone da Todi was part of the community of devotees at the service of the monastery. The Poor Clares abandoned Montesanto in 1367 and the Monastery was transformed by the Albornoz into a fortress. In 1448 the Community of Todi entrusted it to the Observants, transforming it into a convent.
