The consolidated relationship between Fondazione Opes-Lcef, British Council, and the Social Enterprise World Forum (the social enterprise based in Glascow that promotes the worldwide social enterprise movement) has resulted in:
- The participation in the Social Enterprise Open Camp 2019. Representatives from British Council, Social Enterprise World Forum CiC, and Social Enterprise Ethiopia participated. Social Enterprise Ethiopia was actually founded by a group of local social entrepreneurs that participated in the “Social Enterprise Boat Camp 2016” (Co-organized by Acra, Fondazione Opes-Lcef,and CGM). They decided to formally organize themselves to become part of a rapidly growing international movement. The network aims to develop the social enterprise sector in Ethiopia by bringing together the larger community of social enterprises through various programs to help build a vibrant social enterprise ecosystem.
- Participation of the following delegates: Owen Dowsett, British Council’s gender lens expert, Gerry Higgins, Founder and CEO of the Social Enterprise World Forum CiC and Dejene Melat Yosef, founder of the social enterprise Vitabite Nutrition.
- The visibility for the “Social Enterprise World Forum, 2019” which,for the first time, organized on the African continent. The Forum that took place in Addis Ababa from October 23 to 25 gathered the presence of 1.200 delegates from all over the world (50 countries). The Forum included meetings, workshops, policy forum, an academic symposium, a rural forum and the youth week.
