Develhope is a coding school whose Mission is to invest in Southern Italy and other marginalized regions to train highly qualified software developers.
By looking at the needs of the European market on the one hand, and at the North-South gap on other hand, Develhope’s goal is twofold: reducing the gap of programmers and web developers across Europe, and effectively tackling youth unemployment.
The School’s business model allows students to pay only if and when they land a job after the course, which takes place online, and in an intensive but flexible format. This allows students to be selected on the basis of their talent, regardless of their economic background. At the end of the course, each student is supported in the job placement by a specialized team: up to now, 90% of students have obtained a job in 3 months after ending the training.
Develhope has 2 strong beliefs: generating a strong social impact while facilitating access to digital education. Precisely for this reason, Develhope is very much focused on the inclusion of women, migrants and less represented categories in the tech field, and was selected in April 2022 by UNHCR as one of the upskilling and reskilling opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers in Italy who want to enter the digital world.
From May 2022, Develhope has launched a new, more global challenge: extending its impact in other disadvantaged areas plagued by high risk of youth unemployment, not only at the European level, but also in the Middle East and Africa. The startup’s international expansion tests are still in progress, but already 100+ foreign students have chosen to enroll at the Develhope courses.
