Angelo Maiolo is the President of Cooperativa Sociale Alborea, a social cooperative he co-founded in 2016, where he is in charge of managing social inclusion projects aimed mainly at the reintegration of inmates from Brescia’s Verziano prison. A chef by education, he is involved in creating professionalizing work for people who, at the end of their detention, can pursue a sustainable employment future.
A member of the Board of the Brescia Prison and Territory Association, he actively collaborates with the local penitentiary institutions, as well as with all the agencies involved in ensuring a network of assistance woven in the territory for inmates at the end of their sentences or in criminal execution outside prison.

Senior designer, cultural mediator, expert in labor policies and social inclusion, she participated as a researcher, consultant or project manager in various European research and social intervention projects aimed, in particular, at a women, inmates and migrants.
She is CEO and project manager of the Lazzarelle Cooperative, a social enterprise founded in 2010, which produces coffee in the women’s section of Pozzuoli prison. In 2020, in the historic center of Naples, she opened the Bistrot Lazzarelle, where 7 detained and non-incarcerated women work today.
She is a Cultural Mediator and from 2001 to 2011 she was a member of the national association on the detention of Antigone NGO. She has been involved in research focused on prisoners’ and social rights, migration flows, innovation and social enterprises.
She is an expert on the creation and management of social enterprises.

Malick, originally from Gambia and living in Palermo, Italy, is now an important part of the social enterprise Moltivolti.
Currently, Malick holds the position of manager at BarConi, an ice cream shop located in the heart of Ballarò and managed by Moltivolti which gives employment opportunities to three young people with similar migration backgrounds to Malick. The name “BarConi” represents the hope of building a solid future in the employment field, a project he embraced from the beginning and now manages with dedication and passion.
He is also involved in accompanying tourists as part of Moltivolti’s “Through My Eyes” project. In this context, he enthusiastically guides tourists and travelers through city itineraries, sharing his unique perspective and personal story as a migrant.
In his spare time, he works as a freelance photographer. Luisa is the Head of the Institute’s Social Program where she notably created and developed the Social Innovation Tournament, a reference in the European Innovation eco-system. She started at the Institute when it was founded in 2012 and was responsible for the development and management of the Knowledge and Social Programs. Luisa Ferreira joined the European Investment Bank in 1999 as a senior education economist, then an economic advisor in the Projects Directorate where she was responsible for the economic appraisal of projects and research work in the education (with special emphasis on the financing aspects of higher education) and social sectors. She was also Head of the EIB-Universities Research Action Program. Between 2003 and 2004 she was a senior education analyst in the Education Directorate of the OECD, where she was responsible for a project on the role of education and training policy in promoting equity and social cohesion. Prior to joining the EIB she worked as a senior human resources economist at the World Bank (1992-1999), mainly involved in project and research work on education and social protection issues in Eastern Africa and Latin America. She also held teaching positions in Portugal at the Portuguese Catholic University and at the New University of Lisbon and research positions in the USA. She graduated in economics from the Portuguese Catholic University (Portugal), completed the course work for the MSc at the New University of Lisbon, and holds an MA and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA). Luisa is the President of the Board of the Jos and Mimieke Foundation and is regularly invited as member of the jury in competitions in the area of social entrepreneurship and philanthropy.

Questa attività offre opportunità lavorative a tre giovani con un percorso migratorio simile al suo. Il nome “BarConi” rappresenta la speranza di costruire un futuro solido nel campo lavorativo, un progetto che ha abbracciato fin dall’inizio e che ora gestisce con dedizione e passione.
Si dedica inoltre all’accompagnamento turistico all’interno del progetto “Attraverso i miei occhi” di Moltivolti. In questo contesto, guida con entusiasmo turisti e viaggiatori attraverso gli itinerari cittadini, condividendo la sua prospettiva unica e la sua storia personale come migrante.
Nel tempo libero lavora come fotografo freelance. Caroline Caporossi is a 29-year old Italian-American social entrepreneur and founder of the Association for the Integration of Women (AIW), a non-profit organization dedicated to migrant womens’ integration in Modena, Italy. Caroline grew up in a third-generation Italian immigrant household in the United States. At University she specialized in International Relations and Spanish, and she began her career advocating to increase services for the Latino community in Washington D.C and South Carolina. Upon graduation in 2016, she relocated to Modena, Italy where she served as the Program Development Officer at Food for Soul, the international nonprofit founded by Chef Massimo Bottura. In April 2020, after having witnessed the extreme need for economic integration services for migrant women in her community, Caroline founded the AIW, and in 2022 opened the social enterprise restaurant Roots (rootsmodena.com), a unique food-based integration model as a long-term solution, which was awarded the “Youth Innovation and Leadership Award” in January of 2021 by the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth – Migration.

Marina Pittini è presidente della Fondazione Pietro Pittini dal 2017, fondazione d’impresa nata nel 1988 nell’ambito del gruppo siderurgico di famiglia. Marina Pittini is the President of the Fondazione Pietro Pittini since March 2017. The foundation was born in 1988 to help the employees of the Pittini Group, a holding of industrial steel mills and production plants. On March 2017 Marina decided to dedicate herself entirely to the Fondazione Pietro Pittini, a foundation dedicated to the youth. Sport, art, science and merit are the drivers of the foundation to boost quality education. In 2011, she co-founded eLimu, the first company to digitize the Kenyan Primary School curriculum content for revision and literacy. Nivi is driven by learning, development, access, and impact. She serves on the boards of Standard Chartered Bank Kenya and The Open Institute Trust. Nivi holds a B.A. (Hons) degree in Economics from Ithaca College, New York, USA. Désirée Li Bassi, who is bilingual in Italian and French, moved to France at the age of 18 to earn her degree and build a future abroad. However, her choice to leave, her experiences, and her nostalgia for her homeland soon made her realize how much she was in love with her country and how much good there was still to be done for her area. During her final year of studies, she therefore turned down a scholarship at the University of Nice and returned to Italy, combining her university studies with work experience within the tourism industry. In 2020 she graduated from the University of Rome Sapienza with a thesis entitled “Sustainable development applied to tourism: the experience of the 5 senses of Sciacca”, and, returning to the city where she grew up, she began working with the Community Cooperative “Identità e Bellezza” (Identity & Beauty) that manages the Sciacca Ecomuseum.
Over time she became its Head of Hospitality following HCD techniques and standards based on authenticity, empathy, emotions, storytelling. She welcomes “temporary citizens” by fostering connections between the users and the territory, taking care of the logistical accommodation and entertainment of the guests, guaranteeing them an emotional and memorable journey, in close contact with the community and the peculiar identities of the place. She is also Wonderful Italy Manager of the Sciacca Satellite and Hospitality Referent for Smartway.
In January 2022, she co-founded IMPACTA social enterprise SRL, a HUB of europroject changemakers with the aim of providing method and tools for territories to generate social, cultural, environmental and economic impact in the place where they live.

Désirée Li Bassi, bilingue italiano e francese, si trasferisce in Francia all’età di 18 anni per laurearsi e costruirsi un futuro all’estero. Ma la scelta di partire, le esperienze vissute e la nostalgia per la terra natia le fanno presto comprendere quanto fosse innamorata del suo paese e quanto di bello ci fosse ancora da fare per il suo territorio. Durante l’ultimo anno di studi, rifiuta pertanto una borsa di studio all’Università di Nizza e torna in Italia, coniugando gli studi universitari con le esperienze lavorative all’interno del settore turistico. Nel 2020 si laurea presso l’Università degli Studi di Roma Sapienza con una tesi dal titolo “Lo sviluppo sostenibile applicato al turismo: l’esperienza dei 5 sensi di Sciacca” e, tornando nella città in cui è cresciuta, inizia a collaborare con la Cooperativa di Comunità Identità e Bellezza che gestisce l’Ecomuseo di Sciacca.
Col tempo ne diventa Responsabile Accoglienza seguendo tecniche e standard di HCD basate sulla genuinità, empatia, emozioni, narrazione. Nicolò Melli worked in the Cabinet of the Minister of Labor where he was involved in public policy design related to social innovation. In this role he contributed to the drafting of the implementing decrees of the Third Sector Reform focusing in particular on social finance tools and impact measurement for third sector entities. He later worked as an external advisor in structuring social impact programs and interventions at foundations and family offices. Today he is in charge of coordinating programs and initiatives at the Pietro Pittini Foundation.

Roy’s interest in social enterprise derives from his passion for strengthening and developing communities particularly in rural areas. He established and ran his own successful business in Oban and the west highlands of Scotland before selling the business to focus on social enterprise and community development. His passion for technology led him to develop his master’s thesis on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in ESG ratings, providing an in-depth analysis of the benefits, limitations, and ethical implications of the use of AI in this field.

Engineer and Innovation Manager, Viviana has over 17 years of international experience in various sectors and multicultural communities with a continuous action focused on connecting people and ideas for the implementation of successful innovative projects.
Since 2007 she has held managerial roles at companies in the Biomedical Engineering sector and for American multinationals for which she coordinates interdisciplinary teams managing to ground processes that optimize resource management and the on-time, on-quality, on-cost achievement of business results.
In 2017 she returns permanently to Italy to put the skills she has gained in management and process innovation at the service of a territory with immense resources, too often not adequately exploited. In 2019 she founds and chairs the “Museo Diffuso dei 5 Sensi” in Sciacca (Agrigento), an association created to enhance the resources of the territory, its identities and the people who live there.

Nel gennaio 2022 fonda e presiede «Impacta» impresa sociale srl, un hub di europrogettisti changemakers col fine di fornire metodo e strumenti ai territori per generare impatto sociale, culturale, ambientale ed economico. Dal marzo 2022 lavora inoltre come europrogettista per PRISM Impresa Sociale.

The CEO of manufacturer Savanna Circuits has won more than 21 global innovation awards in agriculture. For someone with a background in IT, he has acquired multiple certifications in engineering, including six patents. He has also patented two ideas in IT.
Percy grew up and attended school in West Pokot before studying informatics at Rongo University. He is a computational intelligence Master’s student at the University of Nairobi.
After graduating in 2016, he worked as an ICT systems administrator at West Pokot County where, he says, he discovered the limitations of devolved units in addressing local challenges, particularly those affecting farmers. In 2018, he founded Savanna Circuits Technologies to solve the problem of post-harvest loss in the dairy value chain.
The company has also expanded to other value chains, to manufacture dehydrators for vegetables and cold chains for fish and vaccines. It employs more than 100 people, directly and indirectly, creating livelihoods for thousands.

He’s currently the Co-founder and CEO of Kilimo Fresh Foods Africa, a social enterprise that leverages technology to connect smallholder farmers and fresh produce buyers to fair and reliable markets, providing smallholder farmers with stable pricing and direct access to the market for their crops. Before founding Kilimo Fresh, Baraka spent the first four years of his career as a smallholder farmer in Morogoro, Tanzania. During this time, he struggled with food waste and lower margins for his produce due to a number of unnecessary, non-value addition small chains in the whole agricultural chain. It was because of these challenges that he started Kilimo Fresh to solve the problem not only for himself but also for other farmers in his community. Baraka currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Entrepreneurship Development and Technology, and he envisions creating a global marketplace for Tanzanian farm produce and eradicating post-harvest losses.

Vede le giovani generazioni come motore del cambiamento, perciò ritiene sia fondamentale offrire non solo nozioni, ma anche un network di valore e continue occasioni di arricchimento. Per questo motivo, dopo il termine dei singoli progetti di formazione offerti dalla Fondazione CRT, i partecipanti continuano ad essere coinvolti in una community attiva e inclusiva di oltre 1600 alumni.
Nel suo lavoro intende porre sempre più attenzione a valori come gender equality, sostenibilità, riduzione delle diseguaglianze.
Program Officer Fondazione CRT
Chiara is a Senior Program Officer (Education and Scientific Research sector) in Fondazione CRT. She has worked in Fondazione CRT since 2004 and manages several education programs. “Talenti per l’Impresa” is a project designed to provide young graduates with the managerial and business skills needed to start up innovative businesses. She firmly believes in the importance of quality education, and in the important role of young generations as drivers of change. This is why in addition to the high quality learning experiences, the alumni of the Talenti programs are also provided with extensive networking and continuous learning – a key characteristic within the various education programs: the alumni of the programs constitute in fact a large active and inclusive community (1600 members). In recent years, she has deepened her knowledge of impact evaluation and she considers it important to focus more on gender equality, sustainability and inequality reduction in her work.

Cristina has a degree in International Relations, a Master in Management of development (UN International Training Centre/ILO/Turin), and training in e-learning instructural design and digital transformation. She is working in the development cooperation sector since 1999 (decentralised cooperation, NGOs, United Nations, Foundations).
Cristina joined Fondazione Cariplo in 2008. She is Program officer in the field of development cooperation and team leader for not-for-profit organizations capacity building and organizational development initiatives. She leads the program Innovation for development, supported by Fondazione Cariplo and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, which mission is to foster tech innovation in development cooperation through open innovation, challenges, training, events, and networking.

Lavora in Fondazione Cariplo dal 2008. È program officer, referente per le iniziative di cooperazione internazionale e team leader per le iniziative in tema di capacity building del terzo settore. Coordina il programma Innovazione per lo sviluppo, promosso da Fondazione Cariplo e Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. L’obiettivo del programma è promuovere l’innovazione tecnologica nel settore della cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo attraverso attività di: open innovation/sfide, formazione, eventi / networking.
Responsible for promoting community enterprises – Confcooperative
Giovanni, 55 years old, was born in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. He lives there with his family. After been engaged in vocational training and business consulting, he joined the cooperative network Confcooperative (one of the leading Association within Italian cooperative movement). He has held positions in public and private companies in the pharmaceutical, social and health and business service sectors. He was a member of the executive committee of the Chamber of Commerce of Reggio Emilia. In recent years he has developed research, study and consulting activities for community economies. He coordinates the research and development area in Confcooperative Terre d’Emilia and Bmore, an enterprise services company. For national Confcooperative he oversees community enterprise development. He recently assumed the presidency of I.F.O.A.

General Manager of Italian Accenture Foundation
Simona Torre started her activity in Italian Accenture Foundation in 2018. Previously, she was part of the Global Technology Team of Buongiorno from 2000 to 2012, contributing to the development of the company from startup to European leader in the field of Interactive and Mobile Services. With the acquisition of NTT DOCOMO in 2012, Buongiorno was renamed DOCOMO Digital and Simona was commissioned to initiate and lead a Corporate Acceleration & Venture Program (b-ventures) aimed at accelerating the growth of technology startups, with particular attention to the Fintech sector, being also involved as a member of the Selection Committee of several acceleration programs funded by the European Commission. Previously, Simona worked at Accenture, specifically in the design and installation of IT solutions in the banking sector. Simona graduated in Statistical Sciences at the Alma Mater Studiorum University in Bologna.

Senior Program Officer in the Research and Education area at Fondazione CRT
Ilaria Peano has worked at Fondazione CRT since 2006 where she is a Senior Program Officer in the Research and Education area. She is in charge of several education projects, including Talenti per l’Impresa, a project that provides young graduates with the managerial and business skills needed to start up innovative businesses.
Ilaria is also among the community managers of the Talenti community, a network of more than 1,600 alumni that plays a key role in the evolution of Fondazione CRT’s policies and projects.
In recent years, she has deepened her knowledge of impact evaluation.
Since 2020 she has been involved in the Community of Practice on Impact Measurement and Management promoted by the Esade Center for Social Impact.

Ilaria Peano lavora in Fondazione CRT dal 2006 come senior program officer nell’area Ricerca e Istruzione. È responsabile di alcuni progetti di formazione, tra cui Talenti per l’Impresa, corso post lauream che dal 2011 permette a giovani laureati in tutte le discipline di formarsi sul tema dell’impresa innovativa.

CEO Social Enterprise UK
Peter Holbrook became CEO of Social Enterprise UK (SEUK) in 2010. SEUK represents 100,000 businesses, most of which are in the UK – all of which are social enterprises, operating across the whole of the economy. It works to promote social enterprise as a model for changing both business and society. SEUK develops policy, undertakes research, influences the political agenda, promote the benefits of social enterprise through the media, campaigns and events. Peter has established, developed and supported hundreds of diverse social enterprises over his career. He has advised government taskforces in the UK and overseas and chaired the Social Enterprise World Forum until 2015. Peter has previously worked for Oxfam, Greenpeace and various disability charities. He has experience of working in overseas development, community development and public health. Peter started his career with Marks and Spencer PLC and spent several years with Body Shop International. He was appointed a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 2015.

In 1995, Harish Hande founded SELCO-India, one of the most accredited social enterprises in the Indian scene. SELCO offers modular solutions that exploit solar energy, guaranteeing services for the benefit of the poorest. In addition to SELCO-India, Harish has also founded SELCO Foundation and SELCO incubator to support social start-ups in renewables. For his work for SELCO Harish has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay Award (founded in 1958, considered the Asian equivalent of the Nobel Prize). Harish is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and holds a Ph.D. in engineering applied to solar energy received from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (USA).

Stefania Coni è coordinatrice dei progetti internazionali della Fondazione CRT dal 2010, dove sviluppa e gestisce progetti e partnership internazionali ed europee su temi che vanno dall’innovazione sociale, all’imprenditorialità d’impatto, ai finanziamenti europei, agli SDG e alla venture philanthropy.
Attraverso il suo ruolo partecipa attivamente ai principali network filantropici (ad esempio Philea, European Venture Philanthropy Association) e collabora con organizzazioni internazionali come l’OECD e le Nazioni Unite.

International Projects Coordinator at Fondazione CRT
Stefania Coni has been the International Projects Coordinator at Fondazione CRT since 2010, where she develops and manages international and European projects and partnerships on topics ranging from social innovation, impact entrepreneurship, to European funding, the SDGs, and venture philanthropy. Through her role she actively participates in the main philanthropic networks (e.g. Philea, European Venture Philanthropy Association) and collaborates with international organizations such as the OECD and UN.
Before her role in Fondazione CRT, Stefania was in the research department of the Foundation, prior to which she was the Coordinator of Osservatorio Culturale del Piemonte (Cultural Observatory of Piedmont) and Research Assistant in the Department of European and International Cultural Relations at the Fondazione Giovanni Agnelli.

Chiara Boroli lives and works in Milan, Italy. After her graduation, she entered the De Agostini Group and held various positions until becoming Responsible for external relations of the holding De Agostini S.p.A. and Board member of various companies of the group. Since 2007, year of foundation of the De Agostini Foundation, Chiara Boroli has become the General Secretary of the Foundation, a position that she has held until October 2020, when she was nominated Chairman. David è Responsabile del Sustainable Business presso la Social Enterprise Academy, situata nelle Highlands scozzesi, e si occupa di apprendimento e sviluppo incentrati sulle persone e sull’impatto della comunità. Prima di entrare a far parte dell’Academy, David ha lavorato per la Community Resources Network for Scotland come responsabile dello sviluppo per il nord della Scozia, ha gestito un partenariato rurale locale nel Sutherland e ha insegnato sviluppo rurale al Moray College della University of the Highlands & Islands. David è anche docente associato presso la Open University per i moduli sull’ambiente. David is the Head of Sustainable Business at Social Enterprise Academy based in the Highlands of Scotland, focused on people-centred learning and development and community impact. Before joining the Academy, he worked for the Community Resources Network for Scotland as Development Officer for the north of Scotland, managed a local rural partnership in Sutherland and lectured in rural development at Moray College at University of the Highlands & Islands. David is also an Associate Lecturer with the Open University on Environment modules. He lives in the Highlands and enjoys running, walking and camping in the hills and generally keeping up with his four kids, which takes up all his spare time!

Giulia lavora da quasi 10 anni come senior consultant in Social Seed, agenzia di ricerca, formazione e accompagnamento per le organizzazioni del territorio (pubblica amministrazione, enti del terzo settore, imprese for profit, banche e fondazioni) che supporta nell’innovazione strategica, organizzativa e dei servizi.
Negli anni ha sviluppato una profonda esperienza sul campo nel design di servizi innovativi, processi di stakeholder engagement, design di rituali di open innovation, e formazione e sperimentazione di percorsi di community management.
Giulia disegna e gestisce percorsi di formazione e mentorship per la creazione di modelli business ad alto impatto sociale con un approccio che coniuga il design di servizi con il design strategico: nei percorsi che accompagna, Giulia ha uno sguardo attento alla sostenibilità e alla tenuta dell’innovazione, a ciò che rimane nel tempo in termini di apprendimento, strategia, competenze e leadership.
Dopo il conseguimento della laurea triennale in Scienze Politiche e Diplomatiche, Giulia si specializza con una laurea magistrale in Management dell’economia sociale. Project Manager at Social Seed
Giulia has been working for almost 10 years as a senior consultant at Social Seed, a research, training and accompaniment agency for grassroots organizations (public administration, third sector entities, for-profit companies, banks and foundations) that supports in strategic, organizational and service innovation.
Over the years she has developed deep field experience in innovative service design, stakeholder engagement processes, design of open innovation rituals, and training and experimentation in community management pathways.
Giulia designs and manages training and mentorship pathways for the creation of high social impact business models with an approach that combines service design with strategic design: in the pathways she accompanies, Giulia has a keen eye on the sustainability and resilience of innovation, on what remains over time in terms of learning, strategy, skills, and leadership.
After completing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Diplomacy, Giulia specialized with a master’s degree in Social Economy Management. For years she has worked in building community activation and co-design processes and collaborative space design in her city, Forlì, and specifically founded a coworking network with local associations.
Social innovation expert, Co-Founder and CEO of Impact Hub Siracusa
Rosario Sapienza is an anthropologist with more than 20 years of experience in the field of social sciences. As a researcher at the CENSIS Foundation, Italy, he coordinated research projects on migration, criminality, trafficking of human being and on different youth related issues. Later on, he monitored, evaluated, planned and managed projects in more than 25 countries in the field of the International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid. Among the principal organisations he provided his services there are the EC, the Italian Cooperation, IFAD, UNDP, UNICEF, USAID. In 2012 he co-founded in Sicily (Italy) Impact Hub Siracusa, the Southern European territorial node of the Impact Hub Network, a global network of entrepreneurial communities, entrepreneurial support programs and shared workspaces with a primary focus on social or environmental impact-driven startups. In the last years Rosario joined a team of international consultants in an EU funded project called TESIM, providing its support to the cross-border cooperation between European Member States and neighbourhood countries. Rosario oversees the Mediterranean region.

Rosario Sapienza è un antropologo con più di 20 anni di esperienza nel campo delle scienze sociali. Come ricercatore presso la Fondazione CENSIS a Roma, ha coordinato progetti di ricerca su migrazione, criminalità, tratta di esseri umani e su diverse problematiche giovanili. Successivamente ha monitorato, valutato, pianificato e gestito progetti in più di 25 paesi nel campo della Cooperazione Internazionale e dell’Aiuto Umanitario. Tra le principali organizzazioni a cui ha prestato i suoi servizi, la CE, la Cooperazione Italiana, IFAD, UNDP, UNICEF, USAID. Nel 2012 ha co-fondato in Sicilia Impact Hub Siracusa, il nodo europeo più a sud dell’Impact Hub Network, una rete globale di comunità imprenditoriali, programmi di supporto imprenditoriale e spazi di lavoro condivisi con un focus primario sull’accompagnamento a start up con forte vocazione all’impatto sociale o ambientale. Negli ultimi anni Rosario è entrato a far parte di un team di consulenti internazionali in un progetto di assistenza tecnica finanziato dalla CE e chiamato TESIM, fornendo il proprio supporto alla cooperazione transfrontaliera tra Stati membri europei e paesi vicini all’UE. Julia López Varela, consultant, strategic designer, and project manager with a focus on social innovation. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and is currently studying the Master’s in Language Science at UNED. She has a degree in Business Design and Lean Startup from the H2i Institute Innovation School. Julia is cofunder and director of Ultrazul, a strategic design consultancy. Veronica Chiodo has a Ph.D. in Management Engineering, and she is Assistant Professor at the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano. She completed her M.Sc. in Social Economy in 2014 at the University of Bologna. Her research interest focuses on innovation in socially oriented hybrid organizations, hybrid business models and corporate deep purpose. In 2017, she has been visiting PhD student at the University of Heidelberg and Middlesex University Centre for Enterprise. Juan Parodi is a consultant, trainer and facilitator in sustainability and innovation with 15 years of experience, working with corporations, public entities and NGOs. He is currently Partner and Global Director of Sustainability and Impact at OLIVIA, a global consulting firm. Previously, he led the area of innovation and entrepreneurship projects at Impact Hub in Madrid.
He holds a degree in Political Science and another one in International Relations. He has a Master’s Degree in Sustainability, another one in Communication and Public Relations, a Postgraduate Degree in Digital Marketing and an Executive Postgraduate Degree in Agile Methodologies.

Arianna Ortelli, 26 years old (03/16/1996), high school diploma (Liceo Classico V.Alfieri), bachelor and master degree in Business Administration (University of Turin). As a sports’ enthusiast and a huge fan of Torino FC football club, she convinced her mother to enroll her in her first women’s football club when she was only 12 years old. She has been playing football ever since. During her third year of university, she attended the School of Entrepreneurship & Innovation (Turin). Less than a year later she founded Novis Games, an innovative social impact startup to concretely realize the idea of a gaming environment that can be used without sight, with the mission of making gaming completely accessible to visually impaired and blind people. Less than a year has passed from the initial idea to implementation and the birth of the first gaming platform for blind people, which gives the opportunity to independently experience the physical and emotional dimension of a video game through touch and sounds on a mobile app. The team includes engineers and graduates from the University and Polytechnic of Turin and also involves blind and partially sighted people from Italian associations in its development, design and testing phases. After obtaining an investment round from Digital Magics and Lazio Innova in 2021, the team was able to use that help as a tool to also make graphic video games accessible, giving the possibility to new software houses and developers to create a sound version of their games that a blind individual can experience without using the screen.

Al terzo anno di università frequenta la School of Entrepreneurship & Innovation di Torino, sviluppando una forte passione per l’innovazione e l’imprenditoria. Meno di un anno dopo fonda Novis Games, startup innovativa ad impatto sociale, per realizzare concretamente l’idea di un sistema di gioco che possa essere utilizzato anche senza la vista, coronando il desiderio di far vivere lo spirito aggregativo alla base dello sport anche a persone ipovedenti e non vedenti. Dall’intuizione alla realizzazione passa meno di un anno e nasce la prima piattaforma di gioco per non vedenti, che dà la possibilità di sperimentare in autonomia la dimensione fisica ed emozionale di un videogame attraverso tatto e udito su un’App per cellulare. Il team include ingegneri e laureati dell’Università e del Politecnico di Torino e coinvolge nelle fasi di sviluppo, design e testing anche persone cieche ed ipovedenti delle associazioni italiane. A graduate in Policy Analysis, Paolo strongly believes in the idea that everything around us can be a vehicle for impact. He has always been passionate about social entrepreneurship, and after an experience in political communication he joined zeroCO2, a startup that aims to combat social injustice around the world through reforestation. Teamwork, scouting and acting have been key components for him, having taught him the beauty of curiosity and emotional connections, values he cultivates within himself every day.
Adan is the co-founder and CEO at Ecodudu Ltd. He leads the engineering team at Ecodudu to develop systems that will revolutionize the farm operation processes and increase farm productivity and efficiency. This entails designing, evaluating, and integrating solutions into current systems to automate various farm operations. He has previously worked in the animal feeds sector at Ruiru Feeds for two years. Thereafter, he began his own animal feeds distribution business. Adan has received the Kenya National Innovation Award in 2016 and the Environmental Entrepreneur of the year by the BMCE Bank of Africa through the African Entrepreneurship Award in 2017. Adan holds a Bsc. in Engineering from Kenyatta University and a Bsc. in Business Administration and Management from The University of London.

With a background in humanities, and a specialization in applied ethics obtained at the Ruhr Universität Bochum, Cecilia gained experience in human rights advocacy during an internship with OIDEL, a Geneva-based NGO promoting freedom of education. After two years working for a consulting firm in Barcelona, she decided to pursue her passion for environmental issues and embark on a career within ClimatePartner Italia, where she currently works as a Commercial Sustainability Manager. Cecilia holds the position of Advisor for Filantropia Attiva Italiana Fund, supporting initiatives that generate positive social impact, following the interest matured through the scout movement and various volunteering experiences.
Giulia Mascadri, anthropologist and fundraising consultant who leads non-profit organizations and schools in the management of sustainability processes, sharing and promoting the culture of donation and community involvement. Researcher in applied anthropology and research fellow at the University of Turin for innovation projects in inland Alpine areas, she’s also a teacher in primary school. La foto è in allegato.

Birgit Wenz has been heading strategic projects at Lufthansa Cargo and other Lufthansa companies with focus on customer service, restructuring and setting up strategic partnerships in the last few years. She has deep knowledge in project management, process design and change management.
Since January 2022 Birgit is Portfolio Management Lead at Lufthansa Group CleanTech Hub.
Before this Birgit held different Business Development and Global Account Management Positions at Lufthansa Group and Bosch. She is very experienced in developing new markets and customers and in leading complex negotiations.
She has a very target driven personality and an inspirational leader having built up several international teams. She holds a MBA from University of Cologne and Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo Japan and is fluent in German and English as well as a good knowledge of French and Japanese.
She has been a trustee for the OPES LCEF foundation since 2020 and is proud to have become member of the supervisory board of Afripads in July 2022.

In precedenza Birgit ha ricoperto diverse posizioni di Business Development e Global Account Management presso il Gruppo Lufthansa e Bosch. Ha una grande esperienza nello sviluppo di nuovi mercati e di nuovi clienti e nella conduzione di trattative complesse.

Andia ha oltre 20 anni di esperienza nella gestione di fondi e 10 anni di esperienza nella promozione dell’emancipazione economica delle donne. È state una delle prime donne a ricoprire il ruolo di fund manager in Africa oltre che una pioniera a livello mondiale nel gender lens investing. Andia è un’imprenditrice e ha lavorato a livello esecutivo e non esecutivo per molte aziende e istituzioni.
Andia è appassionata di impact investing e di sostegno alle comunità di base nei mercati emergenti. Kemal Çelik ha conseguito la laurea specialistica in Economia aziendale con la tesi “An Analysis of Social Finance Practices: barriere e opportunità in Turchia” presso la TED University nel 2018. Ha 16 anni di esperienza nel settore dell’ospitalità; ha lavorato come coordinatrice in organizzazioni internazionali per 2 anni, è stata Sales & Marketing Manager nel settore turistico per 12 anni e Head Director of Sales for Tourism & Leisure nel settore dell’assistenza per 2 anni. Ha partecipato a numerose fiere del turismo e seminari settoriali. Durante i due anni trascorsi negli Stati Uniti, si è offerta di condurre corsi di formazione sullo sviluppo personale per gruppi di età compresa tra i 12 e i 18 anni e tra i 35 e i 55 anni presso un centro comunitario. He has been independent Board director in many cooperatives and consortia of the Milan area. In 2014 he was elected Chairman of CGM Finance. Since 2017 he has been member of the Board of Cooperfidi Italia, a mutual guarantee institution for cooperatives and social enterprises. He has experience of social enterprises and cooperatives operating in the health sector, social housing, and urban regeneration.

Alessandro Balsamo, from Palermo, is co-founder and Head of School of Develhope, an innovative startup which Mission is to invest in the Southern Italy to train tech talents though highly technical courses.
He began working at the European Parliament in 2009 as an accredited member for the Parliamentary Committees on environment, energy, civil liberties, home affairs, justice, organized crime and foreign affairs fields. In 2012 he became Head of the Special Secretariat at the Department of Education and Vocational Training of the Sicilian Region. In 2016, he also worked as Head of the Special Secretariat of the President of the Sicilian Region, coordinating political initiatives and public relations, by becoming a member of the Regional Committee for companies’ internationalization.

Francesca Scarinci has been the Director of CGMoving srl since 2021, where she deals with the development of welfareX® through the implementation of territorial projects, the support of the network in design and re-design paths of services and participation in co-design.
It comes from a long experience within the Sol.Co. Verona where she dealt with training, communication, planning and development of territorial welfare services.
She was President of Centro Servizi Welfare srl, a social enterprise, a spin-off of Sol.Co. Christian graduated in telecommunication engineering, and later developed technical skills concerning networking, audio-video streaming and cloud computing in his first working years.
He later focused on digital startup acceleration, where he mentored several projects about business model development and infrastructure architecture and established relationships with venture capitals and seed-angel investors.
Currently, he manages the BIG DIVE (Data) unit at TOP-IX and the Impact Deal data-driven Acceleration Program.
Since 2011, he has been a member of PLUG (where he was also president for 7 years), a no-profit cultural association aimed at developing social design and communication projects like events, graphic contests and other activities with social and environmental scope (e.g. Posterheroes – 11 editions since 2010).
In 2015 he co-founded Print Club Torino, a DIY laboratory to explore the intersection between analogue and digital printing.
Christian is also co-organizer of Data Beers Torino and AWS User Group meetups.

Sevdanur graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration. She also studied Open Education Faculty’s Foreign Trade Department. In 2010, she started to work as a volunteer at Eskişehir City Council Youth Assembly. In following year, she represented the Eskişehir City Council Youth Assembly at the National Youth Parliament meetings. She worked for Habitat Association as a volunteer trainer for 6 years and a master trainer for 4 years in the project called “I Can Manage My Money”. She worked as a coordinator for the “Youth Friendly Cities Index” and “My Sister” projects within the framework of the Habitat Association’s programs for 4 years. Currently, she is working as a Social Impact Coordinator for Needs Map where she is responsible for corporate processes including financial and administrative, human resources and developing projects and campaigns with public sector actors.

Expansion Strategy at Develhope
Chiara Giordano, from Palermo, has been working in Develhope’s Expansion Strategy team since January 2022.
After her working experience as Sales Manager at Uber and as Expansion Specialist for the francophone countries at a Berlin multinational, she is currently working on Develhope’s first international expansion test in European, Middle Eastern and African areas affected by high youth unemployment rates. She obtained her second degree from the Master of Arts in International Trade of the University of Palermo, pursuing her commitment in the study of foreign markets in the last two years with a focus on Arab countries.
She believes in the strong change and social impact that technology can generate, especially if applied in the educational field and with intelligent and sustainable business models.

È il cofondatore e il direttore operativo di Tubayo, il primo mercato di viaggi online incentrato sull’Africa che utilizza la tecnologia come strumento per facilitare i viaggi e per consentire a un maggior numero di africani di poter sfruttare il turismo come ospiti.
Ha oltre 6 anni di esperienza lavorativa come imprenditore digitale e responsabile operativo. Ha conseguito una laurea in Business Administration con specializzazione in contabilità, un certificato CFA in financial modeling e business valuation e un certificato di marketing digitale presso Hubspot.
Lavora con Tubayo dal 2019 e ha visto il mercato di viaggi online crescere da 20 host ad oltre 1.600 nel 2022. Con oltre 25.000 download di applicazioni in 3 anni ha creato una comunità di oltre 100.000 viaggiatori. Tubayo stima entrate di circa 85.000-100.000 USD entro la fine dell’anno fiscale 2022.

He has over 6 years of work experience as a Digital entrepreneur and operations lead. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Certificate from CFA in financial modeling and business Valuation, and a digital marketing certificate from Hubspot.
He has worked with Tubayo since 2019 and has seen the online travel marketplace grow from 20 hosts in 2022 to an excess of 1,600 in 2022 and over 25,000 application downloads in 3 years and a community of over 100,000 travelers with revenue-raising steadily from 20,000 USD in 2020 to over 60,000 USD in 2021 and an estimated range of 85,000 to 100,000 USD by close of FY 2022.

Federica works in Amsterdam as Senior Product Owner for Beyco, a traceability and micro-financing platform for coffee and cocoa producers. Her work journey is focused on supporting NGOs in developing digital platforms and apps.
Her passions and experiences combine different elements, a degree in Art and Event Management, user research and a specialization in Design thinking for which she is an accredited facilitator with the Design Thinking Academy in Amsterdam.
In 2021 she has co-founded the project “The Coffee Wasters”, focused on urban ‘micro-activitism’ and how to foster a circular thinking into urban communities. The project has been selected as one of the winners to the “Distributed Design Creative Talent’ open call by the Gemeente of Amsterdam and Distributed Design institute.

Federica lavora ad Amsterdam come Senior Product Owner per Beyco, una piattaforma di tracciabilità e micro-finanza per produttori di caffè e cacao. Il suo tragitto lavorativo è focalizzato nell’aiutare ONGs nello sviluppo di piattaforme digitali e apps.

Alice Borrello is a PostDoc researcher at Politecnico di Milano. In 2016, she graduated in Management Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, with a master thesis on Impact Investing, and was a visiting student at ISEG Lisbon School of Economics and Management. She received her PhD degree in March 2022 with the research entitled ‘Identity and ambiguity of impact investing’. In 2020, she was a visiting PhD student at the Center for Social Impact at Swinburne University. She is involved in impact finance and impact measurement projects. She tutors courses in Management for Sustainability and Impact and Business in Transformation Lab and teaches at POLIMI Graduate School of Management.

Con questo obiettivo progetta e sviluppa la piattaforma di welfare integrato welfareX® e insieme a CGM nel 2020 fonda CGMoving per la promozione e la diffusione di welfareX® in tutti i settori del welfare, dall’aziendale, al welfare di territorio e alla Pubblica Amministrazione.

Kemal Çelik completed his undergraduate degree on Business Administration specialized with the thesis paper on “An Analysis of Social Finance Practices: Barriers and Opportunities in Turkey” at TED University in 2018. Following his undergraduate degree, Celik started his professional career in October, 2018 as a Project Development Assistant at IDEMA.
Currently, he has been serving as a Business & Project Development Manager for Needs Map, a social cooperative, where he is responsible for the overall coordination of projects and the development of proposals including national and international grants, tenders and funds.
Throughout his career, he took part in the design/development and implementation of many national and international projects as project assistant and project coordinator.
He has been working in the field of entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and social development for more than 6 years.
He has a special interest in the field of social innovation, technology and social finance, especially impact investing and crowdfunding.

Esra Arslan, Board Member of Needs Map, studied Economics at Marmara University. She has 16 years of experience in the hospitality sector; she worked as a coordinator in international organisations for 2 years, was a Sales & Marketing Manager in the tourism sector for 12 years, and Head Director of Sales for Tourism & Leisure in Assistance sector for 2 years. She has participated in many tourism fairs and sectoral seminars. She has volunteered with several NGOs. during her two years in United States, she volunteered to conduct personal development trainings for 12-18 and 35-55 age groups at a community center. She took charge in charity events organised for homeless people in Turkiye and abroad.
